AMA is serious about working in an environmentally conscious way. We are implementing an environmental policy and working towards BS89001 for delivery of sustainable events.
We believe in green is good, but practical green is best. We have a conscience, want to save our planet, and adopt the best green solutions in an intelligent way. We comply with all environmental legislation relevant to our business activities, are committed to preventing pollution and reducing our impact on the environment.
This is how we do it:
Eco-friendly Products including water based inks
Environmental Audit of all our Suppliers. We need to know venues have green policies and guidelines that are actually implemented
Green Transport Policy includes using public transport where possible, monitoring fuel consumption and regularly servicing our vehicles. We equally promote car share and public transport for all the events we support
Online Registration, developed by AMA since 2002, has gone a long way towards making our events paperless
Purchasing Policy that considers environmental impacts as part of the decision making process including Fair Trade products
Recycling Policy that covers a wide range of waste streams including paper, plastics, ink cartridges and metal cans
Recycled Products including paper, pens, pencils and mousemats
Reducing Energy Consumption by turning electrical equipment off when not in use, using laptops rather than desktops, by replacing light bulbs with energy efficient bulbs, activating sleep features on electrical equipment and by installing heater timers
Reducing Use of New Resources by printing double sided and 2 pages per page for draft documents, by using eBay and Freecycle and ‘continuous ink’ printing methods, that reduces ink used and cartridge waste
Supporting our Employees through training, development and voluntary work
Waste Management Systems including cistern holders that to enable us to save water after every flush
